and I'm not talking about the Dec 63 Frankie Valley song
11:48 PM Sunday - that is the time that our girls were finally asleep at the same time last night, and without crying!
What is going on lately with these girls? For the past week or two they have been such a handful. Last night I contemplated getting in the car and driving away. I did more than contemplated, I actually threatened it. I also wondered if anyone would notice 2 big chunks of hair missing from the top of my head. Today, a friend of mine told me that the past week has been the hardest parenting week ever. I can't help but agree with her.
What are these todllers doing to us parents? Do they sneak out at night and go to secret TAP meetings (Toddlers Against Parents)? Do they go online in the middle of the night into chat rooms and devise ways to torture us?
Another thing for me is the barnacle issue. Even when Daddy comes home from work, they BOTH cling to me, wanting to sit in the livingroom chair with me. All three of us on it while Dad is on the huge couch my himself. I don't get it. What is so great about me that they can't imagine being 10 feet away from me for 30 minutes. Here is a link to Peter's post about the barnacles (Fri. 10/28).

What's so great about you?! C'mon Di, I myself can't imagine being further than 10 feet away for more than a half hour … or … well … maybe, 1000+ miles for a year or two … :-)
See? That's my point... no one else wants to be around me, why should they?
Thought of you this morning. My boys decided to have a TAP meeting (well, actually, a: BTPAP meeting. Babies,Toddlers and Preschoolers Against Parents). Logan woke up with a nightmare around midnight and was inconsolable for a long while, then at 3:30am Elijah came downstairs thinking it was time to wake up, then at 5 Cam was screaming with a diaper needing changing. By 6:45 all 3 were up doing the usual combo of screaming, fighting, and crying. So I think my kids joined your kids' club overnight!
You poor girl! So you pretty much got no sleep last night. Man, that is going to make for a hard day - AND A LOT OF COFFEE!
By the way, Madison woke up saying something about Elijah.... so they must have met for their meeting last night ;-)
A LONG day over here! To boot they still have lingering runny noses so I felt like I couldn't take them over to play with anyone or have anyone over. So Wednesday playgroup was a no-go, then I also felt bad even bringing them outside to play since it's so cold, so we've been suffering along today in the house! The boys act up when they're bored and usually I can pull "tricks out of my hat" to keep them entertained, but I'm just too tired today. I just need this day to end! And it's draggingggg.....
Anyway, you made me laugh about the kids first meeting, thanks, I needed that.
