I have been sweating like crazy lately and thought maybe I was going through pre-menopause. (Not really, but it sounded crazy enough, right?) Yes, it's been hot here, but it's been hot since May. Yes, our a/c doesn't work on the 1st floor, but that also hasn't worked since probably May.
a little background info...
So I go to the doc last Tuesday, July 10th, because I had an ear infection that didn't seem to get cleared up with the antibiotic the urgent care doc gave me. He said the infection was gone but the ear canal/tube/tissue thing was still swollen (I couldn't hear a thing out of my right ear). He prescribed me Pseudovent 400. It's "an industrial strength pseudoephedrine..." (his words, not mine). The instructions are to take it once or twice a day - preferrably twice but he said some people cannot sleep at night if they take it twice and that once is okay.
Looking back now, I'd have to say that it's been about a week or so that I have been sweating (I know it's nice to say that women perspire but c'mon) more than I usually do. Just out of the blue.
Today I happen to do a little research and these are the most common side effects:
Mild stomach upset, trouble sleeping, dizziness, lightheadedness, headache, nervousness, fast heartbeat, loss of appetite, shaking, or unusual sweating may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
This product may reduce blood flow to your hands and feet, causing them to feel cold. Smoking may worsen this effect. Dress warmly and avoid tobacco use.
So, there you have it. To all of my friends who probably have noticed the sweat running down the back of my neck (more so than usual), here is my explanation: IT'S THE DRUGS!
Wrapping up.
