18 Years Ago Today....

On July 17, 1989, I was 16 1/2 years (+ 2 days) old and got my driver's license.
Man I feel old!

that's not me in the photo but that's probably how my mom felt riding in the backseat. Yeah, I remember mom, I almost forgot to put the car back in drive while parallel parking. And as old as I am I still remember the driving instructor's exact words (ad the look on his face) when he handed me the license... "This is a gift!"
and this was my first car - well, not the exact car but the same year, make, model, and color (no stripes).
It was given to me by the wonderful Ron! Thank you!

The Biggest Loser... Family Style

I have come up with the idea of my family competing in our own Biggest Loser competition. We are going to have a contest to see who can lose 20 pounds first.

I need y'all's help with determining what the prize should be. Keep in mind that we're not talking about prizes like a trip, or a car, or anything that extravagant. Just a good incentive for us to go ahead and shed those extra pounds.

The contestants so far are me, my mom, my aunt and her husband. I am waiting to hear back from a couple others. Now, I do realize that men and women lose weight at a different pace so maybe we should do like they do on
The Biggest Loser and do percentage of weight lost. So say someone's weight is 147 then if that person wanted to lose 20 lbs. then the percentage lost would be 8.6%. Does that sound right? Correct me if I am wrong.

I may even post some before and after pictures. Not in sports bras and bike shorts though. Maybe the after pic will be in a bikini... :-) Yeah right!

The Post About Nothing

Well, I feel the need to post something but with the USB port on my computer being broken I cannot download any pics. I have some to post but I just can't :-(
So I just figured that I would try and write something interesting. About what? I don't know. hmmm... let's see...
For Halloween M is going to be Tinkerbell and K will be Cinderella (per their requests). I will post pics after Halloween. We have a birthday party to go to on Halloween for a neighbor boy, then we will go to another neighbor's for chili (the family of Megan that I used to watch), then we will head out trick-or-treating after that. Busy night.

Hello Blogworld

It's been awhile, hasn't it? Well, since my lasy entry, not a whole lot new has been going on. Preschool is going well; Kenzie and Maddy both love it and are doing so well. Kenzie is finally getting her colors right and learning her alphabet. I would have thought with her being the second child, and M being such a chatter-box that she would have learned quicker. Oh well, every child is different...
K is almost potty trained. As long as she is at home, she'll go on the potty all day but if we're out and about it ain't happenin'. She will, however, go at school tooWe're also working o the pacifier thing. Ugh... that is going to be soooooo difficult! I so don't want to do that.
With M we're working on her sleeping in her bed - all night. Some nights she'll go to bed no problem and some nights she'll fight for an hour saying she's scared. We started an incentive program with them. I bought reward tickets at the Dollar Store and if they both stay in their beds all night long then they get a ticket. When they reach 5 tickets then we go to the store and they get to pick something out. This sort of started because Maddy is that age now that there are things that she really wants and asks for pretty often, "an Ariel doll, sneakers that light up, and a Cinderella game." This past weekend we went to Wal-Mart and they got to pick out their toy - M's was her Ariel doll, and Kenzie picked out a barbie doll.
Well, I can't really think of much else to write and I'm pretty tired. I promise to write more (and post pics) soon.
Ciao

Artsy Pics

These are the bushes in front of my sister's house. I just always thought they were cool and that day I happened to notice a butterfly floating around these flowers.

Random Pictures

Nancy and the girls came over one afternoon so the cousins could play together. We had them make their own pizza.

I had my camera out while eating lunch with the M&K and the guy at the next table offered to take a pic for us.

What a good mom I am. Nutty Bars and Honeybuns for breakfast - from a vending machine nonetheless.
